High School Trap Team

The Kidder County Sportsman Association does fundraising throughout the year to pay for nearly all costs associated with the Trap Team, the only cost for each participant is the league fee that is required to compete in the state.

All shells and clays are provided by KCSA. If a student is interested but doesn’t have a shotgun, the club has some available for use during the season.

Hunters Safety is required for all shooters, for more information on obtaining hunters safety and available courses please visit the ND Game and Fish Hunter Education site.

There are 2 seasons each year, one in the Fall and one in the Spring. State competition and invitations to nationals are only based on Spring Season shooting scores. Students in grades 6th-12th are eligible.

April 12- Practice Week

April 15- Conferences announced and State Tournament registration opens

April 19- Competition Week 1

April 26- Competition Week 2

May 3- Competition Week 3

May 4- State Tournament registration closes at noon.

May 10- Competition Week 4

May 17- Competition Week 5

May 24- Fun week

May 25- Season final results posted by 5pm

May 26- Tier 1 National Championship registration opens

May 27- Tier 2 National Championship registration opens (if applicable)

May 28- Tier 3 National Championship registration opens (if applicable)

June TBA- Best of the West Trap tournament- Minot, ND

June 19-21- North Dakota Trap Shooting State Tournament- Horace, ND

July 8-12 USA High School Clay Target National Championship- Mason, MI
